Tests

The tests are designed to assess the subject’s “unconscious proprioception” through the analysis of balance, postural control, and movement.

The tests are designed to assess the subject’s “unconscious proprioception” through the analysis of balance, postural control, and movement.

They are performed under various sensory and weight-bearing conditions:

  • Static/Dynamic
  • Single-leg/Double-leg
  • Eyes open/closed

They are designed to objectively measure:

  • Proprioceptive and postural control
  • Postural stability
  • Postural instability

“STATIC BALANCE” TEST IN SINGLE-LEG STANCE

Assessment of the functionality of the three systems responsible for balance (visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive). The subject’s stability is indicated by a chart showing performance and torso sway indices.

Duration: 2 minutes.

“STATIC PRONATION-SUPINATION BALANCE” TEST IN SINGLE-LEG STANCE

Test to assess the control of body verticality in relation to foot pronation/supination.

Duration: 3 minutes.

“DYNAMIC BALANCE” SINGLE-LEG STANCE TEST

Assesses dynamic postural stability on one leg. It objectively measures movement control impairment, the efficiency of the adaptive system, and the visuo-proprioceptive strategy.

Duration: 5 minutes.

“DYNAMIC BALANCE” TEST IN A DOUBLE-LEG STANCE

Assesses dynamic postural stability in a double-leg stance. It objectively measures movement control impairment, the efficiency of the adaptive system, and double-leg load management.

Duration: 3 minutes.
